FacebookFacebookTwitterTwitterEmailEmailShareShare

HVAC systems require routine maintenance to perform well and last a long time. You’ll see more savings on your utility bills with efficient heating and cooling equipment. Besides increased energy costs, you also don’t have to worry about costly repairs when you get regular tune-ups from Kemnitz Air Conditioning & Heating.

Read on to learn how often you need to have your HVAC system serviced.

How Frequently Should You Schedule HVAC Maintenance?

Heating and cooling systems should receive maintenance twice a year. The ideal time to schedule an HVAC service is in the spring and fall before the heating and cooling seasons. Experts suggest having air conditioners tuned up in late winter or early spring and furnaces in late summer or early fall.

What Can You Do to Keep Your Equipment in Good Shape?

There are several things you can do to avoid the need for air conditioning and heating repair, one of which is to clean or replace the air filters regularly. Always be alert for strange noises and odors coming from your HVAC system. Grass and other vegetation should be at least 18 inches away from your outdoor unit. Keep the area around the compressor clean to prevent debris from clogging it and restricting airflow in the system.

If you believe something’s wrong with your HVAC system, contact a professional immediately. You’ll know it’s time to get in touch with your technician if your energy bills are increasing or your equipment can’t meet your heating and cooling needs. Call the pros if you see damaged outdoor unit components or your HVAC system produces a burning, electric smell.
