HEPA Filters

These filters boast some of the industry’s highest MERV ratings, which means they’re very effective at stopping the spread of not only dust, dirt and dander, but also harmful bacteria and viruses. Their efficiency comes at a price, however, as most HEPA filters cost up to 4 times as much as their alternatives.

Reusable Filters

Reusable filters offer a reasonable middle ground between the previous two types. One advantage to this type of filter is that they can be cleaned and reused. However, be cautious about using newly-washed filters, because any moisture left in them will create an ideal environment for the spread and growth of mold colonies.
